“The will to do, the soul to dare” ~ Sir Walter Scott

  • Research and plan ahead.
  • Make the desire to travel stronger than the fear of travelling.
  • Take one step at a time.

What holds us back

Agoraphobia. Claustrophobia. Social Phobia. Behind the labels are individuals whose challenges are specific and personal to them. This site will not discuss the merits of various therapies – the writer is not qualified to do that. It will simply chronicle the journeys of one person who, with a great deal of advance research and detailed planning, has been able to flex those perceived boundaries and travel alone.

The Travelling Agoraphobic is published with the aim of inspiring others who may also feel hesitant to travel.

Comments and reports are welcome from readers who contend with similar obstacles.
